Games

Game writing and narrative design that survives contact with production.

The Lamplighters League

Narrative Designer · Harebrained Schemes / Paradox Interactive

01  Project Sample

I joined a four-person narrative team on a turn-based tactics adventure published by Paradox, writing inside an established world bible across character backstories, barks, branching dialogue, mission text, lore, and VO prep.

The Lamplighters League is praised for its dynamic dialogue system and its ensemble cast. I wrote characters from the inside out — voice, history, reactions under combat pressure — and the systemic dialogue that connects them across hundreds of mission states.

The work demanded production discipline: writing for implementation, for VO, for repeated playback, and for the tight scope of a shipped release.

Bark writing

A curated compilation of in-game barks, combat lines, and character dialogue I wrote for The Lamplighters League. Barks are small but load-bearing: they teach the player how a character thinks under pressure, reinforce mechanics, and keep combat readable when the lines repeat for the hundredth time.

Interactive fiction: the pearl of sorrow

Personal Project · Twine

A short Twine-built sample. Branching narrative, multiple endings, and moral choices with real consequence — the player decides what kind of blade-for-hire wanderer to be in a brutal mythic world, and the story tracks that decision through to the end.
